Dodge Night

By Cheryl Yu

Dodge Night
Thank you all for coming out to experience everything "Dodge" with us! How cool it was seeing many of the guests coming in already sporting Dodge sneakers. (Who also noticed we had a Snapchat geofilter for the event?)
Elyse's limited edition Birch Prints are still available at the store for purchase, so feel free to drop by and get ahold of one before they sell out!
We'll see you at the next Artist Night very soon! Stay tuned :)
Special thanks to Mathew Harper for the continuous support!

Dodge, Bringing the Outdoors In

By Cheryl Yu

Dodge, Bringing the Outdoors In

We’ve had a remarkable time with our first ever featured artist, Sean Karemaker, but the time has come to bid a “soft” farewell. Don’t worry, his collection is still available here on the site, and in our Sneaker Gallery, but be aware that inventory is getting low in some styles.

Sean now passes the torch to our next artist, Elyse Dodge, an exceptional multi-faceted creative from Vancouver. Elyse’s art piece is as bright as her smile, featuring a geometric deconstruction of the beacon of Whistler, Black Tusk. To nobody’s surprise, her art piece has already been adorned by countless guests visiting the gallery.

Equally impressive is this beautiful film story of Elyse produced by our friends at Timelapse. You owe it to yourself to watch the full five minute tribute.

Elyse will be joining us at our Sneaker Gallery this Thursday evening (Mar 23rd, 7-10pm) for her official artist night. Guests will receive a limited edition signed "Elevation" print ($75 value; see top image) with any shoe purchase made that night. Additionally, every person who attends and follows Six Hundred Four and Elyse Dodge Art will be put into a draw to WIN a painting! The winner will be notified on Elyse's Facebook page on Friday, March 24th.

If you're interested in attending, please indicate on our Facebook Event Page, or email us at info@sixhundredfour.com. We're hoping to see you there :)

Karemaker, the Friendly Ghost

By James Lepp

Karemaker, the Friendly Ghost

Art manifests itself in a multitude of forms, and artists' personalities come in equally as many. Sean Karemaker's personality, character, and art all exude nothing but awe. It's been an incredible journey thus far with Sean, and we're so excited that this month is Karemaker Month.

Equally exciting is the artistic video feature Timelapse Media produced featuring Sean. I could spend days trying to eloquently write about Sean but wouldn't come near to what this video communicates. If you have 5 minutes, please "watch the art".

This Thursday evening (7-10pm, Feb 9th) Sean will be joining us at our Sneaker Gallery for his official artist night. He'll be signing shoes and boxes (see above), showcasing other pieces, and simply being Sean. Details on the event can be found on our Facebook Event Page. If you're interested in attending please indicate on that page, or email us at info@sixhundredfour.com.

We hope to see you there :)

Arrived

By James Lepp

Arrived

Hello world. The store is officially open!

What a ride it has been, and this really is only the start. It's like celebrating that you made it to the start line, like qualifying for the Olympics, but you really have no idea where you're going to finish the competition. We could lose in heat 1, or make it to the podium. I'm hoping, and confident, it will be the latter.

There are tons of individuals and businesses to thank, but specifically I want to personally thank those who played a pivotal role in making it happen.

  1. Interior Designer, Amber Kingsnorth, and her team at MāK Interiors.
  2. Our millwork provider, JMV Woodworks.
  3. General contractor Peter Streiling, from Rockridge Fine Homes.

We couldn't be happier with the space :)

Please come check out the store; I think you'll be quite impressed as well.

Store Update

We're almost there!

Since receiving our building permit we're actually ahead of schedule! That's the first time I've heard those words in the past year. Thanks to that we've scheduled to open the store on December 15. We're throwing an Exclusive Launch Party that night. To be invited all you have to do is order anything from the site before then.

Special thanks to Amber and her interior design team at Mak Interiors for putting the design together, and to Ken and Peter at Rockridge Homes for building it out.

The Unveiling

By James Lepp

The Unveiling

It was back on March 1 that I originally reached out to our "Original 7" artists. Most of them at that time thought it was some sort of scam, and I suppose rightfully so. There was no website, no prototype, no line art even...just an idea. After meeting with them however, they realized the potential, and thanks to them we now have a full collection of physical products.

It goes without saying that yesterday (Nov 19) was a monumental day. It was the first time any of the artists had seen the shoes. There were videos, images, snapchats, instagram posts, but nothing tactile until yesterday. Each artist took their turn on the stage and uncovered each pair that they designed. They finally realized...it wasn't a scam!

Here are some more images from the Unveiling Party:

*Special thanks to Lumas Gastown for hosting us!
